I love writing the word Banana. It’s such an odd word, like tent – you can repeat it tonnes of times and then start to question whether it is, in fact, a word or if you’ve just made it up. I hate spelling it though, it’s such an easy word to spell, but thanks to Gwen Stefani I feel the need to sing the letters as I write them.
Anyway, enough about the word banana, I’m here to talk about My Healthy Protein Banana Bread (I almost spelt it wrong then and added an extra “na”). If you know me, you’ll know I love experimenting with Protein Baking. I work for a sports nutrition marketing company so I have a lot of dealings with protein powders and other sports supplements.
Sunday mornings usually consist of protein pancakes, maybe some protein muffins and definitely some protein brownies, why? – because it’s the weekend, durr….
I decided, due to the fact I had a whole tonne of almost dead bananas, that I would experiment with some protein banana bread. So one Sunday, during pancake making time I made an extra load of pancake batter and poured it into a loaf tin.
To my surprise – it totally worked and tasted delicious.
With regards to my protein powder, I generally use MyProtein as it’s probably the best value on the market, they have awesome deals and because I’m pretty used to it now. I used the banana protein powder also, but not because I like it – but because I hated the taste of it alone in shakes, so they only way I’m going to get rid of it is by baking it all.
SO here it is – My Healthy Protein Banana Bread.
Let me know if you’ve tried this, or if you have an even better protein banana bread recipe – I’d love to see your ideas and recipes.
